Pete is an advisory board member of DVP focusing on ecommerce and online advertising sectors. He has over five years China internet industry experiences and has over ten years of overall internet knowledge.
Currently, he is a Managing Founder of SinoOne Group, an advisory firm providing strategic guidance to overseas Internet companies entering China as well as local earl-stage startups on business modeling and monetization. Previously, Pete worked for 5 years as head of internet marketing for eBay China where he managed an annual $25M online advertising budget, the largest in China. He had extensive working experiences with all the major Chinese Internet portals and search leaders as well as smaller vertical sites. In early 2002, he joined Eachnet as its marketing director in charge of growing site value by increasing user activation. Prior to eBay Eachnet, Pete founded a successful B2C online auction business in Hong Kong focusing on lifestyle products. Pete is a regular speaker at Internet conferences such as AdTech, IandI, and other local conferences throughout China.
Pete began his career as one of first three economic analysts for Deloitte & Touche Los Angeles newly formed economic advisory practice in 1994. Thereafter, working with a senior partner in the Hong Kong office, he helped set up the service there and worked briefly in its Beijing office until 1999. Pete holds an EMBA from China European International Business School (CEIBS). He graduated from University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Economics.
Pete is ethnic Chinese born in Saigon, Vietnam but grew up in US for over 25 years. He has spent the last 10 years working in Asia. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Vietnamese.
